Description: This book presents the results of the three-year intensive monitoring of radionuclides of the Japan Fisheries Agency in various fish, plankton, benthos and their habitat after the accident at the Fukushima Daichi NPP in March 2011. The book reveals the dynamics of pollution processes in marine and freshwater fish mediated by pollution of water, sludge and food organisms; it also clarifies the mechanisms by which large differences in the level of contamination are observed among individual fish. Most importantly, the book includes a large amount of original measurement data collected in situ and for the first time evaluates the diffusion of radiocaesium in the Pacific Ocean, using both in situ data and a numerical simulation model.
