Description: This report provides a review of commented Entrobacter sakazakii (Cronobacter spp.) infections worldwide in infants and young children as well as the existing surveillance systems and their capacity to capture cases of E. sakazakii (Cronobacter spp.) infection. This volume and other in this series co-published with WHO contain information that is useful to both risk assessors and risk managers, the Codex Alimentarius Commission, governments and food regulatory agencies, industry and other people or institutions with an interest in E. sakazakii (Cronobacter spp.) in follow-up formula, its public health impact and approaches for the evaluation and selection of potential control strategies.
